DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Dr Serdar Celik\, Professor Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering--SIU-E\n\n\n\nDr Celik is going to cover common units and dimensions used in the energy sector\, global energy production and consumption trends\, electricity generation\, transmission\, distribution\, and storage\, connecting the three E's (Energy\, Environment\, and Engineering)\, and energy and the social media. The presentation is designed to address professionals of various energy sectors.\n\n\n\nDr. Serdar Celik is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE). He has several years of experience in air-conditioning and refrigeration industries before his career at SIUE. His research at SIUE focuses on energy\, building energy efficiency\, solar energy\, green roofs\, and HVAC systems. He was selected as the Paul Simon Outstanding Teacher-Scholar at SIUE. He is the Founding Chairman of SIUE Energy Symposia.\n\n\n\nCelik is the author of "Sustainable Energy: Engineering Fundamentals and Applications" published by Cambridge University Press. His book has been adopted by universities and energy professionals in the U.S.\, Canada\, Europe as well as other countries in the world.
