SUMMARY:Kellsie's Trees of Hope
DESCRIPTION:A ticket includes: seating\, appetizers\, beer\, wine\, soda\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThe 15th Annual Trees of Hope Gala is one of our biggest fundraisers\, and a wonderful start to the holiday season. Beautifully decorated Christmas Trees\, Wreaths and Home D cor are on display for silent auction and raffle. There are trees that include many high value items\, such as tickets\, gift cards\, and merchandise.\n\n\n\nThe centerpiece of this event is the Angel Tree and the Tree of Hope. The Angel tree is vision of white and gold angels with each angel holding the name of a child who has received their angel wings. A beautiful memorial to the parents who have lost their child. The Tree of Hope is a 12ft tree adorned with pink light bulbs and pictures of children that we have granted WISHES to. The light bulbs are available to purchase throughout the evening\, with the goal being to light up the tree by the end of the event. The evening concludes with guest speakers\, presenting a check for pediatric cancer research\, a live auction and there just might be a WISH to grant.\n\n\n\nKellsie's Hope was started by Kellsie Marchbanks during her second round of cancer treatment. After her passing in June 2011 of Osteosarcoma\, the Marchbanks family formed Kellsie's Hope Foundation Inc\, to celebrate the life of this remarkable young woman and to continue the work she started from her hospital bed.\n\n\n\nThe mission is to provide hope to families that have children suffering from cancer by offering support for trips and gifts that might otherwise be unattainable. We are also dedicated to raising awareness and funds to support childhood cancer research and support the education of healthcare providers with an annual nursing scholarship.\n\n\n\nKellsie loved Christmas. She loved everything about it. While in the hospital battling cancer for the third time\, Kellsie received the gift of a special princess Christmas tree. This generous gift was the inspiration for Trees of Hope. From humble beginnings\, the event has grown into a huge annual gala. Volunteers donate and decorate over 100 trees\, wreaths and holiday tablescapes to be auctioned and raffled. Guests can sponsor "itty bitty trees" which are delivered with gift cards to children on the oncology floor at St. Louis Children's Hospital with a special message from their donor. All net proceeds benefit children with cancer.
