GPRO Fundamentals of Building Green

Selsius presents free training on building green

Selsius™ Corporate and Career Training, the business and industry center for Southwestern Illinois College, will host a prep course on the fundamentals of building green.

This free session will be held April 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Belleville Campus, 2500 Carlyle Ave. Advance registration is required.

Learn the basics of sustainability and the essential strategies and work practices that make buildings green. The course prepares attendees to take the Green Professional Building Skills Training (GPRO) certification exam following the session.

GPRO certification enhances a person’s ability to compete for green jobs. The optional test costs $75.

Those in construction and building operations are encouraged to register for this free prep course, but anyone with an interest in green building may attend.

This training is offered at no charge through a grant from the Illinois Community College Targeted Energy Management Program. The Illinois Green Economy Network hosts the program with support from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
