The Collinsville Memorial Library Center invites you to meet local author Lou Baczewski, author of Louch: A Simple Man's True Story of War, Survival, Life and Legacy on Wednesday, July 22 from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM.
Teacher and historian Baczewski will just be returning from a 1500-mile biking trip through Europe. The journey retraces the footsteps of his late grandfather, Sgt. Lou "Louch" (pronounced 'looch') Baczewski and the 3rd Armored Division of the U.S. Army. Sgt. Baczewski experienced five major WWII engagements, including the Battle of the Bulge, and helped to free a concentration camp. His story is shared in Louch.
Baczewski's experiences from the European trip will be compiled into a new book, Path to the Past. 100% of the proceeds from the book will be donated to local military and veterans organizations.
