The Office Support Specialist is a part-time position at the SIUE Small Business Development Center/ International Trade Center (SBDC/ITC) on the SIUE main campus in Edwardsville. 

The Office Support Specialist will maintain financial records for the SBDC/ITC as well as the granting agency, Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. Duties will include:

-Maintain client files.
-Report matching funds to granting agency through the Grantee Reporting System (GRS) with Research & Projects, prepare budget for request for proposals and budget modification forms when necessary.
-Complete grant contract routing forms, invoice vouchers, purchase requisitions, travel vouchers, and other fiscal duties as assigned.
-Prepare pre-hire forms needed for Dean's office preparation of graduate assistants and staff contracts.

Additionally, the Office Support Specialist will perform general administrative duties such as answering phones, distributing mail, handling walk-ins and supporting the Center’s training events and IRS Tax Symposium through registration tracking, follow-up, and reporting.

This position is 15-hours per week, Monday through Friday within the hours of 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.  Specific work days and shift times to be determined.  Further duties and responsibilities may be assigned in support of the center’s mission and goals.

This position is a current civil service vacancy at the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville main campus. It will close to applicants at close of business, 4:30 pm CST, on the posting end date.

1.  High school graduation or equivalent.
2.  Twelve (12) months of clerical/office support work experience comparable to that performed as an Office Support Associate or in other positions of comparable responsibility.
3.  Any one or combination totaling twenty-four (24) months from the following categories:
    (a) Work experience performing clerical/office support work, including use of computer systems.
    (b) Vocational training that provided a knowledge of generally accepted clerical procedures.
    (c) College or university course work in Office Occupations, Business Administration, Business Education, or closely related fields.
                36 semester hours = twenty-four (24) months.
    (d) College or university course work in any curriculum.
               60 semester hours = twenty-four (24) months.

-Knowledge of MS Word and Excel is required.  
-Knowledge of Neoserra, Grantee Reporting System (GRS), Constant Contact, AIS, Banner, and CashNet helpful, and can be learned on the job.
