Part Time: Office Assistant - Fire
The City of Collinsville is accepting applications for a part-time Office Assistant in the Fire Department. This position reports directly to the Fire Chief.
This part-time Office Assistant position can work up to 20 hours per week, generally between 8:30 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. A work schedule will be established depending on the final candidate's availability and the City's needs at the time of an employment offer.
The position will perform a variety of skilled secretarial functions such as but not limited to: preparing correspondence, reports, and other documentation which may be confidential in nature; updating and maintaining the Department's records and files; and providing clerical support on varied projects.
Minimum qualifications include High School Diploma or equivalent and one year of administrative support experience; OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Position requires effective verbal and written communication skills, including strong spelling and grammar; a cooperative spirit with co-workers; the ability to follow directions; and the ability to communicate with diverse personalities.
Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures, working knowledge of Microsoft Office, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology is highly desirable.
