Watson Road Location Will Be SCU’s Second In St. Louis County

November 30, 2018– Scott Credit Union is finalizing plans to open its second St. Louis County Branch in January of 2019.
The credit union, with headquarters in Edwardsville, IL, is finalizing plans in preparation for opening a full-service location at 9792 Watson Road in Crestwood.
The newest SCU location will feature a 3,000-square-foot lobby with a traditional teller line, safe deposit boxes, a 24-hour ATM drive-up lane, and two drive-up lanes.
“We are excited to be growing again with a second location to serve people in St. Louis County,” said Scott Credit Union President & CEO Frank Padak. “We expect to open the Crestwood Branch in January. It will be a great kick off to the new year for SCU. The branch will have a traditional layout and is located to provide even more convenience to our nearly 7,000 members who live in St. Louis County.”
The new Crestwood Branch is part of Scott Credit Union’s strategic growth plan to open branches and serve members in St. Louis County, Padak added.
“We want to be convenient so our members and people who live in St. Louis County can take advantage of the value we offer,” he said. “We welcome the residents in the county to see why we are a great money-saving alternative.”
Scott Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial cooperative. When people open accounts at the credit union, they become a member and an owner. Because of its not-for-profit structure, Scott Credit Union has given $10 million back to members through a bonus dividend and loan interest rebate over the past 10 years.
“Our cooperative structure is really the best for consumers,” Padak added. “We don’t answer to a small group of stockholders. We answer to our members. Because of that structure, we pay more on our members’ savings, charge less when they need to borrow and keep fees low. We truly are a great money-saving alternative to traditional banks.”
The new branch also will have mortgage and investment experts on hand to help area residents who are looking to buy a home or need assistance with planning for retirement or on investing their money, Padak said.
“We are looking forward to providing the value that Scott Credit Union offers to people in the Crestwood area,” he added.
Scott Credit Union is open to anyone who lives or works in a 26-county area, including Madison, St. Clair, Monroe, Morgan, Sangamon, Calhoun, Greene, Jersey, Macoupin, Montgomery, Christian, Shelby, Bond, Fayette, Effingham, Jasper, Crawford, Clinton, Marion, Washington, Jefferson, Randolph, Perry, Franklin, Jackson, or Williamson counties in Illinois. Anyone who lives or works in St. Louis County, Missouri also can open accounts at SCU. Additionally, anyone active or retired military also can have accounts with Scott Credit Union.
