SIHF Healthcare Issues Reminder of 2020 Health Insurance Open Enrollment Period
Individuals Have Until December 15 to Enroll or Make Changes
to a New or Existing Health Insurance Plan
(November 5, 2019) – SIHF Healthcare is reminding area residents of the health insurance open enrollment period and important dates and deadlines.
The 2020 open enrollment period runs now through Sunday, December 15. Open enrollment is the period when consumers can enroll in a new or make changes to an existing health insurance plan. The plan chosen during the open enrollment period will begin on January 1, 2020. Once the open enrollment period ends, consumers no longer qualify for new enrollment or coverage changes unless they qualify for the Special Enrollment Period.
Patrice Howard, vice president of performance at SIHF Healthcare, touches on the importance of health insurance. “Having health-coverage is for more than just your physical health; it provides comfort and stability to your family. We want to assure that our patients understand health insurance and open enrollment, so our Certified Application Counselors are available to assist free of charge.”
