The American Bonsai Society and The Bonsai Society of Greater St. Louis will be hosting the event; one of the largest bonsai shows in the Midwest.
There will be a large bonsai and Ikebana exhibit and 21 bonsai vendors. General admission - $10
Full registration is $269, which includes the exhibits, workshops, seminars, demonstrations, raffles, auctions and 2 dinners

Three Nationally known bonsai masters will be teaching workshops, and giving a demonstration for full registrants.
Marc Noelanders lives in Belgium and has studied the art of bonsai extensively, under many artists in Japan, including Kimura. He is also the creator and producer of the famous European Premier Bonsai Exhibition – the Noelanders Trophy. His ability to take raw stock material and create a bonsai masterpiece is unprecedented. Marc teaches bonsai around the world and we are honored to have him teach at Gateway to Bonsai 2018.
Bjorn Bjorholm is from Knoxville, TN. He is a bonsai artist and instructor who spent 6 years as an apprentice under Master Keiichi Fujikawa at Kouka-en Bonsai Nursery in Osaka, Japan, before receiving certification as a bonsai professional by the Nippon Bonsai Association. His tenure as an apprentice at Kouja-en was followed by 3 years as artist-in-residence at the same location, making him the first and only foreign-born working professional in Japan. During his time in Japan, Bjorn’s works were featured in the Kokufu-ten, Sakufu-ten and Taikan-ten exhibitions, among many others. Bjorn travels the world, teaching bonsai art and providing services to private clients and international organizations. His teaching videos have become very popular with the bonsai community. Bjorn now resides in the Nashville, TN area.
Matt Reel is from Portland, Oregon, and is a member of the Portland Bonsai Village. For eight years, he apprenticed with Shinji Suzuki in Japan. His interest in bonsai started when he was 14 years old. Matt is known for his expertise in working wide a wide range of conifer and deciduous bonsai, as well as his knowledge of bonsai pots and bonsai displays. These days he can be found working on client trees, teaching classes and leading demonstrations across the country.
