Scott Credit Union Honored With Two Awards From America’s Credit Unions for Financial Education and Community Service
Edwardsville, IL – October 17, 2025 – Scott Credit Union is proud to announce it has been recognized with two distinguished awards from America’s Credit Unions. SCU was honored to receive first place in the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service category and second place in the Desjardins Adult Financial Education category.
The awards were announced in September 2025 and will be presented to SCU at the Illinois Credit Union League’s Annual Convention on October 24, 2025, in Chicago, Illinois.
The Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Award honors SCU’s With You Grants program, which is funded through the Scott Credit Union Community Foundation. Since launching in 2020, With You Grants has distributed over $355,000 to local K–12 schools, including a record-breaking $150,000 in 2024 alone, funding 40 projects that benefited approximately 9,300 students and teachers. The grants have supported STEM innovation labs, creative arts and literacy initiatives, wellness and inclusion programs, extracurricular enrichment, and more, transforming classrooms throughout the community.
The Desjardins Financial Education Award recognizes SCU’s innovative Financial Education YouTube Playlist, launched in late 2023 to provide free, on-demand financial guidance for adults. Since its debut, the playlist has reached more than 1.56 million views and generated over 23,000 hours of watch time, with an impressive 89.6% viewer completion rate. Covering everyday topics such as credit scores, budgeting, home loans, and scam prevention, the series meets adults where they are - online and on mobile devices - empowering them to make smarter financial decisions.
“These awards are a tremendous honor and a reflection of the dedication of our entire team,” said Frank Padak, President and CEO of Scott Credit Union. “Financial education and community service are at the heart of who we are. Whether it’s giving adults the tools to make confident financial decisions or empowering teachers to bring new opportunities into their classrooms, we are committed to making a positive impact in the communities we serve.”
Scott Credit Union continues to demonstrate its cooperative principles by investing in education, supporting community growth, and empowering individuals and families to build brighter financial futures.
